Luckily most of our land was unaffected. The fires cleared the path for new plants to sprout. But the yearly occurrence allows mostly for grass like low vegetation to grow and unfortunately this is mostly of benefit to farmers who keep cows. They prefer the fires to cutting the taller dried grasses and controlled tree cutting. So they let it happen or start them the fires themselves.
